Thomas Hammer has been committed with Right To Play Switzerland since 2015 as a member and since 2021 as Vice President of the Foundation Board. Thomas Hammer (CH/1954) has been an independent management consultant since November 2014. He advises listed and unlisted companies on the assessment and further development of boards of directors and executive boards. Thomas Hammer started his career as a lawyer before joining Egon Zehnder in 1991, where he became a partner in 1996 and was later appointed Managing Partner Switzerland. In 2002, he joined UBS AG as Group Head of Human Resources and member of the Group Managing Board. In 2007 he rejoined the partnership of Egon Zehnder, where he worked until October 2014, the last year as Senior Advisor.

Today, in addition to his work as an independent management consultant, Thomas Hammer is a member of the supervisory boards of various companies in the profit and non-profit sector in Switzerland and abroad. He is a member of the advisory board of a private international industrial conglomerate and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Schweizer Berghilfe until 2020. From 2014 to 2021, he was a member of the steering committee of Avenir Suisse, Switzerland's leading think tank, where he is now a member of the nomination committee.

Thomas Hammer studied law at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich, where he also obtained his doctorate. He obtained a patent as an attorney-at-law and notary public of the Canton of Solothurn and supplemented his formal education with a PED (Programme for Executive Development) at IMD in Lausanne and a Senior Executive Programme at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbour, USA.
